Saturday 15 August is the Solemnity of the Assumption, a Holy Day of Obligation.
As with Sunday Mass and Christmas Day, Catholics are required to attend Mass on this day. You can fulfil your obligation by attending the Vigil Mass for the Assumption on Friday 14 August at 6pm (tonight), which will be followed by vespers, or by attending Mass on Saturday 15 August at 9am or 12:15pm. Please note the 5pm Vigil Mass on Saturday 15 August does not fulfil the obligation of the Assumption, as it is the Vigil Mass of Sunday.
