School of Religion

There are 3 separate sacramental programs, which run over 4 weeks each:

1. Confirmation

2. First Reconciliation

3. First Eucharist

First Confession

First Confession classes start on Tuesday 24th of February 2026 from 6-7:30pm in Haydon Hall, St Christopher’s Cathedral. These will occur every Tuesday until the First Confession Mass.

The Sacrament of First Confession will take place on Friday 27 March 2026 at St Christopher’s Cathedral at 5:30pm.

This is for Year 2 students or older who live in Barton, Causeway, Deakin, Forrest, Fyshwick, Griffith, Kingston, Manuka, Parkes, Red Hill, Yarralumla or attend school in these suburbs.

Children must have received the Sacrament of Baptism prior to First Confession.  

Preparation Class Schedule (6-7:30pm):

• Tuesday 17 March 2026

Confirmation

Confirmation classes start Tuesday 21 April 2026 from 6-7:30pm in Haydon Hall, St Christopher’s Cathedral. These will occur every Tuesday until the Confirmation Mass.

Confirmation Mass will take place on the 23rd of May 2026 at St Christopher’s Cathedral 5pm Pentecost Vigil.

• Tuesday 28 April 2026

• Tuesday 5 May 2026

• Tuesday 12 May 2026

• Tuesday 19 May 2026

First Holy Communion

Classes start Thursday 14 May 2026 from 6-7:30 pm at Haydon Hall, St Christopher’s Cathedral. These will occur every Thursday until the First Holy Communion Mass.

The First Holy Communion Mass will take place on Sunday 7 June 2026 at St Christopher’s Cathedral for Corpus Christi Sunday.

This is for Year 3 students or older who live in Barton, Causeway, Deakin, Forrest, Fyshwick, Griffith, Kingston, Manuka, Parkes, Red Hill, Yarralumla or attend school in these suburbs.

Children must have received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation prior to First Holy Communion.
